Reliance Jio finally revealed the full features of Jio phone on its website on the first day of its pre-bookings. Jio phone mainly aims at 2G phone users, who are yet to join the Jio family. The handset is “originally free” but you have to pay a sum of Rs.1500 as refundable security deposit which can be claimed after successful completion of 36 months. Jio phone, entitled as “India ka Smartphone” by RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani, delivers features that set it apart from other phones available in the market.
JioPhone can be booked online via Jio’s website or through the MyJio app, and even at nearby Jio retail stores or multi-branded outlets. Since it was announced, the consumers were curious about, whether it supports expandable memory, processor or hotspot. Jio Phone Processor, Memory and Battery
The single Nano-SIM handset flaunts a 2.4-inch QWVGA( 240×320 pixels) display powered by 1.2GHz Spreadtrum SPRD 9820A/QC8905 dual-core processor with Mali-400 GPU with a RAM of 512MB and internal storage of 4GB, expandable upto 128GB via microSD card. The handset is backed by a 2000 mAh Li-Po battery said to accord 12 hours of talktime and 15 days of standby.

Reliance Jio JioPhone comes with a 2-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 0.3 megapixel front selfie shooter and even lavishes video recording as well.
Reliance JioPhone packs KAI OS, a forked version of Firefox OS, ships a voice assistant, enabling voice-based search in English and Hindi as well. For instance, the users can ask the assistant to call a contact from phonebook, message contacts, play movies on JioCinema, music on JioMusic and browse Internet as well. Essentially, it will support 22 Indian languages including Hindi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Sanskrit, Sindhi and more.
Continuing the legacy, this JioPhone comes with True 4G or LTE support and delivers VoLTE (Video and HD Voice Call).
And even flaunts Jio’s suite of apps comprising apps like MyJio, Jio4GVoice, JioMusic, JioCinema, JioTV and JioXpressNews. Plus users can connect their JioPhone handset to their TV via JioMedia Cable to watch movies on big screen from phone, although the wire will be sold separately as an accessory. When talking about connectivity, it includes Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, FM Radio and USB 2.0 support.
Other features of the Reliance Jio JioPhone incorporates a dedicated SD card slot, a USB Type 2.0 port for charging speaker, a torchlight and a SOS option which can be activated with long pressing the number five on the keyboard. With that, the handset is only available in black color, in-box accessories include the handset, removable battery, charger adaptor, warranty card, quick service guide and a Reliance Jio SIM card.
JioPhone Data Plans
Although the voice calls are free on JioPhone and along with 300 free SMS per month. The Reliance Jio monthly data plan comprises of Rs 153 pack, delivering 500MB data per day for 28 days. You can even go for their weekly (7 days) plan of Rs 54 and a 2 day plan of Rs 24 with the same unlimited data asset as for the Rs 153 plan.
